The client
Elkarlan is a consultancy in Amurrio (Álava) supporting SMEs and self-employed professionals with their administrative, accounting and tax management. As in any consultancy, the bottleneck is not professional judgement — that is precisely their value — but the volume of repetitive work you have to get through before reaching it.
The challenge
A good part of the day went into mechanical tasks: moving information between their management software and their own documents, and preparing the same information over and over for different clients. They wanted to lean on AI, but with two non-negotiable conditions. First, it had to integrate with a3, where their accounting already lives: a tool sitting off to the side would have added one more place to look, which is exactly the problem they wanted to solve. Second, no decision affecting a client could be made without a person reviewing it, because in their line of work a mistake is not an inconvenience, it has consequences.
What we did
We built a custom solution with an AI core: an agent the team interacts with in natural language that speeds up their day-to-day processes by executing tasks against their own systems, integrated with a3. The agent does not replace the adviser — it prepares the work, leaves it ready for review and keeps a trace of what it did, so you can always check where something came from. And because it lives inside their usual workflow rather than in a separate tool, the team does not have to switch context to use it.

Result
